The largest hair and beauty trade show outside of London, Hair UK, returned to the NEC, Birmingham on Sunday 19th and Monday 20th May, welcoming thousands of hairdressers, beauty professionals, barbers, salon owners and students.
Taking place alongside Beauty UK, Barber UK and Holistic Health, the show offered a host of free educational opportunities, including the revamped Hair Stage, supported by The Hairdressers’ Charity, the Beauty Stage and World Barber Stage. Visitors were able to see the latest tips and techniques in action on the stages, allowing them to leave feeling truly inspired.
This year’s Hair Stage showcased some of the country’s leading hairdressing talent, professional brands and training academies, such as Ben Brown, Karoliina Saunders, Wella Sebastian Cult Team, Lewis Moore, McDonald Waterfall Education, G&E McIntyres, Wella Generation NOW, Scissorhands, Zen Hair, Tuckwell & Co, Twisted Scissors, Barber Barber and Kings & Queens Hairdressing.
During the event, The Hairdressers’ Charity raised a total of £2,111 from visitor donations. As the official charity for the hairdressing industry, the organisation provides financial assistance and support for hairdressers in need.
The event also saw the introduction of the NEW Make-up Masterclass Stage, which proved a huge hit with show visitors and showcased tutorials from leading MUAs, influencers and training academies. For 2019, the inaugural Salon Owners’ Business Forum was also held. Open exclusively to salon owners and key decision makers, attendees were able to enjoy motivational talks from some of the industry’s leading business experts
Additionally, 2019 saw the launch of our Show App which provided users with an interactive floor plan, full exhibitor list, stage timetables and exclusive show offers, enabling them to maximise their time at the event. The App can be downloaded by searching for ‘Guild Press’ in the App Store.
Next year, Hair UK will return on Sunday 10th and Monday 11th May to the NEC, Birmingham and for 2020, the exhibition will be held in Hall 4. The move provides the show with an ideal location, meaning it will be situated closer to the train station and within easy walking distance of the bars, restaurants and other amenities which form part of the NEC complex, including three hotels.
