Dunning received triumphed over 100s of other competition entrants to take home £500 worth of Wahl products and the opportunity to work on the Salon International stage with the Wahl artistic team.

The panel of judges, led by Simon Shaw, European artistic director of Wahl UK Ltd alongside Kieran Webb, Carl Blake and Hannah Davies, scored eight finalists on their presentation skills, technical ability, creativeness and presenting skills. The other finalists were Miguel Gutierrez, Jack Robinson Pullen, Paul Mac, Tom Chapman, Davie Walker, Bobby Freedman and Sandra Perovic.

Shaw said “I’m proud to announce that Jamie is the winner of Wahl’s British Barber of the Year 2015. Jamie is a deserving winner, his outstanding barbering skills stand out to me and I can tell he has a promising future.”

Entries for Wahl’s British Barber of the Year opened in June 2015, with barbers submitting three to six image collections showcasing their barbering talent to Wahl UK Ltd. This competition was open to UK and Irish entrants and the submitted barbering styles had to be their entrant’s own work and created using Wahl products.

Shaw added, “Over 100 barbers entered the competition this year and the talent was exceptional. It was really difficult to select finalists from the entrants because of the high level of creativity. I’ve certainly been impressed this year.”
