Award winning hairdresser Rae Palmer has announced her partnership with Revlon Professional, marking the start of her WeLove Salon’s move into becoming a ‘beauty hair salon’ – a total care concept including an experiential retail area.
Says Rae, “After owning my salon for 15 years and building the Rae Palmer brand name very successfully, I decided it was time to look at the future of my business. I wanted my small empire to last not only through a turbulent recession but to grow and prosper for the next generation and beyond. For the high street salon to survive, as an industry we have to look at the experience we offer our guests more than ever.”
As a result, Rae rebranded as WeLove Salons and now plans to franchise the brand – the flagship Southsea salon has already welcomed Cileste Makkink Rogers as the new Salon Director and franchisee.
“I’ve found in Revlon a hair brand that doesn’t just make technical products, but that like me recognises the need for beautiful hair, for a brand to be dynamic, passionate, and encompass beauty and fashion. The energy and synergy is incredible,” says Rae.
Roger Vallve, Revlon Professional Marketing Manager UK & Ireland says, “Revlon’s vision is to establish itself as the quintessential and most innovative beauty company in the world by offering products that make consumers feel attractive and beautiful. Revlon believes that its global brand name recognition, product quality, R&D, innovation and marketing experience have enabled it to create leading global consumer and professional brands.
“Rae brings her skills as a commercial hairdresser and one of the most innovative and creative stylists in the industry. She has won many awards including Southern Hairdresser of the year and been shortlisted for British Hairdressing Business Awards Innovation of the Year and Manager of the Year. We were captivated by her groundbreaking ideas and vision for her brand and for hairdressing in general, and we can’t wait to move forward with our partnership. Rae is a phenomenal ambassador for Revlon and for the industry, and we believe she will motivate many other high street salons with her blueprint for commercial hairdressing success.”
Rae, who is currently shortlisted for Southern Hairdresser of the Year 2015, is now on a mission to empower the high street hairdresser and will be teaching her business concepts around the UK as well as appearing on stage creatively for Revlon Professional. The two brands will be unveiling the first stage of Rae’s new salon concept towards the end of 2015 with further developments completed in 2016.
The salon currently operates a total care concept using the acronym GOSCH – gorgeous, on trend, sophisticated, creative, healthy. The salon has introduced new menus of essential and luxury cuts, and an additional new menu of a deluxe cut. Gorgeous new beauty rooms above the hair salon undertake all spa and beauty medical services such as Botox and non-surgical facelifts.
