Open to the public, the Hair show at the Westlands High School in Sittingbourne was the ‘creative hairdressing’ part of the NVQ course assessment. The Hair show was held in aid of Diabetes UK and organised by Wendy Rook, the head of the hairdressing department who has had Type 1 diabetes for 13 years.
In the category of the ‘Elements’;
The tree design (Earth) won first prize and was the creation of NVQ level 2 student Jessica Longhurst, 18 from Sittingbourne.

The tap design (Water) was the close runner up and was by NVQ level 2 student Kayley Grove, 18 from Sittingbourne.

44 students took part and the judging panel included a representative from Wella and a City and Guilds external verifier.
This is the first time they have donated to Diabetes UK and on the day they raised £168.50 in donations and a raffle.
