Jack Howard, International Colour Director at Neville Hair & Beauty and colourist to the likes of Poppy and Chloe Delevingne, Donna Air, Kelly Brook and more has been busy preparing a host of models for Fashion Week as well as giving celebrity models his trademark sun kissed Balayage colour.
Loyal client Poppy Delevingne flew in from Sao Paulo after a shoot and her first stop was with Jack in preparation for a very busy weekend at London Fashion Week, the Elle Style Awards and the BAFTAS. Poppy has been a dedicated fan of the Balayage technique for some time now to keep her hair looking gorgeous. Jack explains, “Balayage is a French word meaning to sweep or to paint. It allows for a sun-kissed natural looking hair colour similar to what nature gives us as children with softer, less noticeable regrowth lines – the principal idea being less is more when creating soft, natural looks.”
Georgia Salpa, former Celebrity Big Brother housemate, FHM model and cover girl for FX also dropped into the salon to lighten up her dark brunette locks, tweeting after that Jack is the Balayage God. Jack has been working with Georgia for over a year now and syas that she “often changes colour, so we decided to go for the ‘bronde’ shade this time which is so on trend at the moment. I also added some Balayage pieces around the face for that sun kissed shade.”
Model of the moment, Ola Rudnicka has been busy walking the catwalks at both New York and London Fashion Week, where she showed off her iridescent white blonde hair (courtesy of Jack) at Jason Wu, Diane Von Furstenberg, Tommy Hilfiger, Edun, Proenza Schouler, Narcisco Rodriguez and Prabal Gurung and most recently Giles Deacon.
Jack said of Ola’s colour, “That perfect bleach blonde hair looks amazing against pale skin, so will give you a real lift at the start of summer and work well throughout the season as your skin picks up some colour. This summer, blondes look lovely with a hint of iridescent pink, which adds a very subtle shimmer that looks incredible when the light hits it.”
Next up was model/actress Chloe Hayward and top model Ana Beatriz Barros as they prepared for both Fashion Week and in Ana’s case, a forthcoming cover shoot. Chloe encapsulated every woman’s joy in finding their dream stylist in her tweet “After years of failed relationships, I think I just found “the ONE”. Chloe also tweeted after her appointment that Jack was ‘Best Colourist in London’ and that she had some ‘summer put through her hair on this rainy day’ thanks to ‘colour genius’ Jack Howard.
Jack, the official colourist to Next Model Management, says:
“Chloe’s hair is a gorgeous sun kissed blonde; this strong shade photographs well, it’s soft but with boldness through it. The placement of shades is close together around the face to give strength at the front for a sexy look. For a shade like this I use L’Oreal Professionnel’s Majimeche as it’s gentle on super long hair, helping to keep it in great condition.”
Ana Beatriz Barros
Meanwhile Jack’s signature Balayage was the order of the day for Ana Beatriz Barros: “As she has an important cover shoot coming up I put in sun kissed ends with some brighter shades around the face, which work really well for the camera as well as in real life. I added a few New York Lights around the face to add a little extra sparkle to Ana’s look. I used a mix of L’Oreal Professionnel’s ammonia-free Platinium and Majimeche colours to get the contrast in this look.”
Ana tweeted her thanks to Jack after her appointment to her 132 thousand twitter followers, saying “I love my hair…
